Thatcheria mirabilis, 73 mm, this specific Shell features a characteristic natural grayish coloration in some areas. This is not dirt, but rather a deep pigmentation acquired by the specimen in its natural habitat (deep muddy seabeds), making it unique and testifying to its authentic "dredging" origin.

Note to collectors: Ideal for those seeking a piece that shows the true natural appearance of the species, beyond the classic commercial cream coloration.

Trawled at 40-60 mt. deep.
Family: Raphitomidae.
Common name: The Japanese Wonder Shell or Miraculous Thatcheria.

Shell very special and increasingly difficult to find, from the Sea of ​​Japan.
The specie has a unique feature: it is screwing (see photo) in the hollow of another shell, the Architectonica (any species of this genus, for sale on our website, at this link), although the two gastropods have never met, living in different seas.
