In this Sharks Catalog we have gathered all the material that you can find scattered also in the Other Items Catalog and in the Fossil Catalog, or what is inherent to sharks, both current and present, and extinct and available only in the form of fossils (mostly teeth, vertebrae or spines and rostrums of various kinds, since, being animals with a cartilaginous skeleton, very little has been preserved of them).
Please note that, with the exception of teeth, books on sharks (only italian language, sorry!) or other, the whole sharks contained in this catalog have all been embalmed or otherwise dried or prepared in various ways, so if you are looking for live fish (we thought of gattucci, barracuda, stingrays or other small ones) sharks) for your saltwater aquariums, you will necessarily have to navigate out of L'Arca di Noè.
As with any category, if you are interested in some specimens, remember that our catalog is subject to frequent updates, so come back often to visit us if you are looking for news.
And now... good exploration!
All the sharks we sell are unprotected and therefore regularly marketable (you will not find, for example, the hammerhead shark), with very few exceptions, such as some white shark teeth with which we are running out, but with a regular certificate of conformity which attests its origin and pre-CITES capture. For those who, naively or with bad intentions, pretend to buy from us protected species or species that cannot be hunted (and the same applies to fossils of Italian origin that cannot be neither collected nor traded), we would like to point out that L'Arca di Noè does not it is an exception and is not above the current legislation: we cannot hunt them down, neither we nor others on our own, nor can we hold them, buy them, embalm them or sell them. If we have in the catalog of the species that can be protected at the moment, these are specimens that have been hunted before they became such, and the attached complaint in our possession attests to this origin and relative regulation at the reference Forestry office. In this case, we have done the preparatory work or others, it is perfectly indifferent and therefore no additional certificate is required that certifies who embalmed them or gave them to us, that we will not provide for any reason to those who, wrongly, felt obliged to request it.
Guide to the consultation of the catalog
The NEW symbol in the green triangle next to the trolley, when present, shows, for a certain period, all the new specimens recently inserted. The following black text under the scientific name in red of the item indicates the main systematic category to which the animal in question belongs; then follow, within the product-sheet, any sub-categories (blue, green, orange and yellow, when present) in which it can be further subdivided. For example: the "mouth" (ie the upper and lower jaw, joined together by the cartilage) of the shark Carcharhinus brachyurus (or copper shark) is found in the category "sharks and rays" (blue text), subcategory "sharks and jaws ”(Green text). The articles of the various categories can be found among them in alphabetical order.
Then follows, as a supplement to the photo, a brief description of the product that illustrates its appearance and size; if this is not complete, including the scientific name of the animal (genus and species), you can find it in full by opening the product sheet of the specimen you are consulting. Below the photo you will find the price in euros (which may or may not be on offer, so also take a look at our Offer Catalog).
To learn more, click on read more: a window will open with one or more photos of the item (can be enlarged) and further information useful for the purchase, such as a more detailed description, the specific code number of the item, the availability (the object could be temporarily exhausted or booked), the origin, which indicates the geographical location where the animal lives.
The dimensions of the articles are expressed in cm or in mm, while for shark teeth, except in specific cases, only the length (diagonal major) from the apex to the root, as the height, is considered, according to convention. because of the root indentation, it would be an inaccurate measure and is therefore almost never taken into consideration. In any case, keep in mind that, where the article is offered in batches or we have in quantity and therefore cannot be sold individually as for the pieces of greater interest or value, the indicated measure will be within a surrounding of dimensions. If these by default deviate much from what is indicated in the catalog, at the time of your eventual order we will notify you of the measure currently available.
For your orders, please click on "add to cart" without fear: the actual purchase will take place at a later time, after our confirmation of its actual availability (it is recommended to read the sales information anyway). If you are looking for something in particular, use our internal search engine that we have created especially for you!
