Common name: The Blue Carpenter Bee.

Xylocopa coerulea is spread throughout South-East Asia and builds digging nests in dead wood with powerful mandibles long tunnels profonde. It is a solitary bee, the largest Xylocopa known and among the bees one of the world's largest (the largest is the Indonesian Megachile pluto).
