Phoebis trite one wing lenght cm 2.5-3 Insect Tropical Butterfly Pierid Pieridae.
Common name: Butterfly Buttercup.
Syn. Rhabdodryas trite.


Phoebis (or sulphurs butterflies) is a genus belonging to the subfamily Coliadinae of the Pieridae family (or white butterflies). They are native to the Americas.
The genus Phoebis contains 8 large species of Pieridae family, usually of a yellow color.
Phoebis trite has spread to the south Caribbean and Mexico across much of South America and southern Brazil.
With a wingspan of 1 3/4 - 2 1/4 inches, it is similar to Phoebis philea because it has a yellow coloring very bright, but it lacks the two orange dots and is slightly smaller. It also has a lighter shade, like the lemon.
Recently Phoebis trite has been renamed Rhabdodryas trite with four identified subspecies.
Synonyms of Phoebis genus: Colias, Callidryas, Metura, Parura.
