Origin : West Pacific


Architectonica sp. mm 40-50 Seashell Sea Snail Gastropod Staircase Sundial Shell.
Presumable specie: Architectonica maxima or Architectonica trochlearis.
Family: Architectonicidae.
Common name: Giant Sundial.
Syn. Solarium maximum.

Shell very particular, with in sight internal spiral. The specie has a unique feature: it is screwing (see photo) in the hollow of another shell, the Thatcheria mirabilis, although the two gastropods have never met, living in different seas.
