Origin : Balut Island, Davao (Philippines)

Mud Crab Medaeus serratus Crustacea Decapoda Brachyura  Xanthidae, carapace about cm 7 x 6 (legs not included), in a small box with an interior covered in black, as in photos.
Taken on coral reef, 20-25 mt deep.
Family: Xanthidae.
Common name: Mud Crabs, Pebble Crabs or Rubble Crabs.
Syn. Demania cultripes.
