Hedychrum nobile mm 9-10 Insect Solitary Cuckoo Wasp Parasitoid Hymenoptera Chrysididae.
Family: Chrysididae.
Common name: Cuckoo Red Wasp, The Great Noble, Wasp Color Gold Sand.
Syn. Sphex nobile, Hedychrum alterum, Hedychrum aulicum, Vespa carbunculus, Hedychrum longipilis, Chrysis lucidulum, Chrysis regia, Vespa viridis.

Hedychrum nobile is a species of cuckoo wasps, insect Hymenopters of the family Chrysididae. Two subspecies are known: H. nobile antigai and nobile nobile.
Hedychrum nobile can reach a length of 4–9 millimetres. Head, scutellum, post scutellum and median segment are blue or green, pronotum, mesonotum and the abdomen are golden purple.
These wasps fly from mid-June to September. Usually they prefer sandy habitats and rocky slopes. The main host species of this parasitic wasp is Cerceris arenaria.
This species can be found in Palearctic Region and in North Africa.
