Rhaphigaster nebulosa (Poda, 1761), is a bug shield of the family Pentatomidae (Hemiptera or Rhynchota Order). It is the only species of Rhaphigaster this kind in Europe.
It is a pest that lives where there are plants, hedges, sunny walls. It can be confused with the Asian bug brown marmorated stink (Halyomorpha halys) recently acclimatized in Italy. At the end of autumn it can to enter in the houses. Its repellent substance, the pungent odor of bitter almonds, was used industrially to make even more acute the smell of chemicals such as prussic acid.
