E' una specie di coleotteri chiamata Jeerjimbe in lingua kannada. Le elitre ed il pronoto, densamente forato, hanno un bel colore verde smeraldo con iridescenza metallica.
Questi coleotteri hanno una breve durata di 3 o 4 settimane nella loro fase adulta. Il ciclo di vita dura circa due anni. Era comune in alcune delle antiche culture raffinate dell'Asia fissare pezzi di ala di questi coleotteri xilofagi  come ornamento di dipinti, tessuti e gioielli.

It is a kind of beetles called Jeerjimbe in Kannada language. Elytra and pronotum densely punctured, have a beautiful emerald green color with metallic iridescence.
These beetles have a short duration of 3 or 4 weeks in their adult stage. The life cycle lasts about two years. It was common in some of the ancient cultures of Asia refined attach pieces of wood-boring beetles as these wing ornament paintings, textiles and jewelry.
