Description

Origin : Indian Ocean - Beheloka, Madagascar (Sud-Ovest)

Size : mm 47

Conus pennaceus behelokensis mm 47 Unique specimen, as shown in the photos. Splendid Conidae specimen belonging to the highly sought-after subspecies behelokensis, endemic to the waters of Southwestern Madagascar. This variety is distinguished by a slightly more ventricose (swollen) shape and a more depressed spire compared to the nominal form, featuring an extremely dense and detailed "tent-pattern."

The design displays a complex network of milky-white triangles on a reddish-brown/orange background, creating a color contrast of great aesthetic impact.

  • Curiosity: The name behelokensis is derived from the locality of Beheloka, the only area in the world where this specific morphological variant is collected, granting the piece a strong geographical identity.

  • Common Name: Feathered Cone or Episcopal Cone.

  • Synonyms: Darioconus behelokensis, Darioconus pseudoracemosus.
