Again dinosaurs in Italy!

Dinosaur tracks redesign the Italian Jurassic.

The discovery on Mt. Pasubio that was thought submerged in water.
TRENT - Three dinosaur footprints, discovered in a gallery of Mount Pasubio can rewrite the ancient history of the Italian peninsula and redrawing the geography of the Jurassic. Marco Avanzini is sure - conservative head of the geology of the Tridentine Museum of Natural Sciences of Trento - which identified the footsteps inside the tunnel del Monte Buso, dug by the Austrians during the First World War to connect the rear to the first line.
Those footsteps, according to studies paleogeographic, in that gallery should not have to exist: in the Jurassic period, it was thought that area was flooded with water. Italy Jurassic (the period 200 to 160 million years ago) was considered mostly 'an underwater land, where the most were low mudflats on the water. In 1990, the discovery of dinosaur tracks to Lavini of Mark, in southern Trentino rocked this hypothesis.
The following findings, which occurred in a wide area between the Adige Valley and Feltrino, prove that the area known by geologists 'Trento Platform' in the Lower Jurassic (200 million to 190 million years ago) was made up largely from land. The subsidence predicted by the models had occurred more traditional 'later (in Upper Jurassic, 160 million years ago). The new discovery rewrites so 'not only the history of this area, but also its geography, underlines Avanzini. And according to the traditional models, the platform of Trent had to be linked in its southern part of the African continent.
The fragmentation of the continent Pangea, it was thought, had dragged the Alpine region to the south separating it from Eurasia via an arm of the sea. The Jurassic dinosaurs of Italy, as a result, had to have affinity 'with those in Africa. But the scientists found no evidence to that effect. '' The discovery of footprints in the gallery of the Monte Buso paints a very different landscape - says Avanzini - evidence of the passage of dinosaurs also the period in which the territory is considered underwater, moving the hands of the oceanic sinking of a few million years. He then speaks of a relationship that looks to the north and south. If you compare those with the same period, in the footsteps of Monte Buso not in fact have relations with the African, instead show indisputable similarities with those found in Poland, France, Scandinavia and North America.''
'' The Jurassic dinosaurs of the Alps - continues Avanzini - dinosaurs were Europeans. The tracks consist of three footsteps tridactyl robust with claws at the ends' of the fingers. About 30 inches long, are partially overlapped: the bipedal carnivorous dinosaurs have left two medium-sized and large degree (two feet tall, 7-8 in length, 400 kg), belonging to the genus Dilophosaurus''.
'' E 'likely imagine that dinosaurs walked into a morass of brackish water, bordered to the edge of the platform of Trento from sandy beaches that faced the sea. In addition to the footprints were found the remains of the environment in which they lived plants (conifers and ferns), freshwater mussel, shellfish, bones of crocodiles and fish,'' he concludes Avanzini.
