Babylonia perforata pieroangelai mm 76 Seashell Gastropoda Sea Snail Whelk Babylon, with operculum, only a piece, as in photos.
Trawled in 02/2012 at 10-20 mt. deep.
Family: Babyloniidae.
Common name: Piero Angela's Babylon.
Syn. Eburna perforata (Sowerby, 1870).

This marine gastropod mollusk of the Babyloniidae family was named after the Italian journalist and science divulger Piero Angela.
