Origin : Philippines (Bohol or Balicasag Island)

Size : mm 100


Acesta rathbuni mm 100 x 77 Seashell Bivalve File Shell Shell Clam Comb Scallop, both valves, only a piece, as in photos.
Taken with tangle nets between 350-500 metres deep.
Family: Limidae.
Common name: Rathbun's Giant File Shell or Yellow Slippery Clam.
Syn: Lima crocea, Lima dalli, Lima rathbuni, Callolima rathbuni.

It should be noted for all bivalves that the two valves may have been glued or remained closed due to the dried ligament and therefore the item appears as a single piece. herefore, we are not responsible for any damage caused to the shell to try to badly separate the pieces.
