Aventurine or Green Quartz 31-40 gr - cm 3-5.5 Raw Minerals Stones Rocks for Collection.
Variety of Quartz with inclusions of Mica, Hematite or Limonitic grains.
Also available in lots, at this link.

Green aventurine quartz is a variety of translucent chalcedony in granular aggregates with small inclusions that reflect light causing the phenomenon of adventures. These lamellas are usually micas (fuchsite, actinolite, goethite and others) or chlorites, which give the stone a brilliant brown or green color (the latter color thanks above all to the fuchsite). In the presence of considerable quantities of muscovite, there are silvery reflections, while there is an oligoclastic variety, oriental aventurine or sunstone, in which the abundance of hematite deposits causes red internal reflections. It is generally considered a valuable freestone. The appearance is like that of a material in which small specks are randomly distributed ("à d'aventure" in fact, hence the name). In fact, a type of glass invented in Venice in the 17th century took its name from Aventurine. Aventurine is mainly extracted in Brazil, China, India and Russia, while the brown one comes mainly from Brazil.
