Pharnacia ponderosa GIANT Tropical Stick Insect Phasmid

Pharnacia ponderosa cm 21-22 Giant Tropical Stick Insect  Phasmid.
Family: Phasmatidae.
Common name: Heavy Stick Insect, Giant Walking Stick.
Syn. Pharnacia magdiwang, Lobophasma ponderosa.

Like many of their relatives, Phasmatidae are able to regenerate limbs and commonly reproduce by parthenogenesis. Despite their bizarre and even threatening appearance, they are harmless to humans.
The Phasmatidae contain some of the largest insects in existence. The recently discovered giant Chan stick insect (Phobaeticus chani) of the subfamily Clitumninae (sometimes located within Phasmatinae) can reach a total length of over 50 centimeters; it is the longest known living insect.
