Origin : Malaysia (Cameroon Highlands)


Acraea terpsicore one wing lenght cm 2.5-3 Insect Tropical Brush-Footed or Four-Footed Butterfly.
Common name: The Tawny Coster.
Syn. Acraea violae.

It has a weak fluttery flight. It is avoided by most insect predators. This species and the yellow coster (Acraea issoria) are the only two Indian representatives of the predominantly African subfamily Acraeinae.
