Dastilbe is an extinct genus of prehistoric bony fish. It had an average length of 25-60 mm, being able to reach a maximum length of about 150 millimeters. It was probably an anadromous fish (fish living for most of the time in salt water and reproduce in fresh water), tolerant to hypersalinity and subjected to frequent mass mortality. Larger individuals of this predatory fish are fed with small fish and, probably, were also cannibals.
Dastilbe was a primitive fish of the order of Gonorynchiformes, widespread in Gondwana, the supercontinent that is believed to have existed for about 330 million years, approximately 510 to 180 million years ago. The fossils of this fish were found in dell'Aptian floor of the Lower Cretaceous period of the northeast of Brazil and Africa.

Dastilbe elongatus Silva Santos 1947
Dastilbe crandalli Jordan 1910
