Spinosaurus is a genus of carnivorous dinosaur, whose name means "spiny reptile." The genus includes two species: S. aegyptiacus, described in 1915 by Stromer and S. maroccanus, described by Russell in 1996. They lived during the early Cretaceous (Cenomanian), around 98 to 95 million years ago.
