Ankylosaurus (meaning 'rigid lizard'), an herbivorous dinosaur, was length 9 meters (30 ft), up to 1.5 m (5 ft). The most obvious feature of Ankylosaurus is its armor, consisting of massive knobs and plates of bone, known as osteoderms, embedded in the skin, like in the skin of crocodiles or armadillos.
