The Crocodilus spenceri, now renamed Kentisuchus, was discovered at the phosphate mines in the formation Kem Kem, region of Tegan, province of K'Sar-es-Souk in Khouribga, Morocco. These reptiles weighing 5-10 tons, and reached a length of 25-40 meters with a skull of 1.5 meters. Terrestrial vertebrates, including young and small dinosaurs may have been among their prey. Lived mainly along the Coasts of Tethys Sea in the late Cretaceous (75 to 65 million years ago), but some specimens have been found in Europe in the early Eocene (54-45 moy). These ancient crocodiles can be recognized by the large bulbs in front of the snout and relatively small lower jaw. The last descendant of these Loricate is the Indian Gharial, a species in danger of extinction.
