Guide to the consultation of the catalogue

As for the other zoological catalogues, all specimen of the Insect Catalogue have been subdivided into great and small systematic categories to make easier the consultation. For example the order of the Coleopters is divided into families (Scarabaeidae, Buprestidae) and, where is necessary, into subfamilies (Dynastinae, Cetoniinae).
The NEW symbol near the scientific name (genus-species) of the animal, shows, if it's present, for a brief period all the new animals of the catalogue. The following green text indicates the main systematic category; this can be divided into subcategories (orange and yellow). For example: the scarab Fornasinius russus has included in order "Coleoptera" (green text), in particular in the family "Scarabaeidae" (orange text) and precisely in the subfamily "Cetoniinae" (yellow text). The articles are listed in alphabetical order.
After the photo (if present), it follows a brief description of the animal to give you an idea of the aspect and of the dimensions; if it isn't complete, you can find it in detail opening the article-card of the specimen that you're examining. Finally you'll find the price in Euro and Dollar, the availability and the possibility to read the article-card: clicking on it, appears a pop-up with a bigger photo of the animal and further informations useful to the purchase, like a more detailed description, the sex, when it has been possible distinguish it, with the following symbols: M=male, F=female, while M+F= specimen only sold in couples (pair). If the cell is empty it means that the sex has not been identified or that the availability of one or the other sex is accidental. The origin indicates the place where the animal has been captured (therefore not the area where it lives that can be larger). In case of purchase, if available, it will come supplied also the date of the capture. The symbol A- means that the specimen has a slight fault, while A2 means that the imperfections are more accentuated. Than they're indicated the availability of the relating animal (it could be temporarily finished), its code number, and at last the eventuality special price of the specimen (give you a look at our Offers Catalogue).
For all the Arthropods, the measures are from the apex of the head to that one of the abdomen, excluded the antennas or other appendices, if not where expressly indicated or when for convention they are comprised, like for example the jaws of the Lucanidae or the horns of the Dynastinae. For spiders the measure indicates the leg span: from the apex of the hind leg to the apex of the fore opposite leg. The symbol w.s. (butterflies, locusts) means wing span. However the indicated measures can always not to correspond, being one medium, sometimes approximate, between adult animals that during their lifetime can not to reach the maximum dimensions. If the real measure of the available animal are much lacking from indicated measure in the catalogue, to the action of a your eventual order we will communicate you the measure at the moment available.
For your orders, you can click on keep shopping without fear: the ultimate purchase will take place successively, after our confirmation of its real availability (anyhow we exhort you to read the terms of sale). If you search for a precise article, let's use our search engine that we have added for you!
We remember you a last time that the specimen are supplied papered, not prepared to put in a frame.
