Fossils

  Fossils

Are you fans of Jurassic Park? Unfortunately at the moment we don't have alive dinosaurs, but we have authentic fossil teeth of Carnosauria (Spinosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus) and in case of need many close copy (resin reproductions) from the original fossils preserved in museum or private collections.
We have also fossils much more ancient, from half a billion of years ago, we are speaking about the Trilobites, sea Invertebrates today extinct, or the Orthoceratides, the "long-limbed" ancestors of the Ammonites. And still: teeth of extinct shark, fishes, sea-urchins, ammonites, shells, etc. Our pieces come from several parts of the world, excluded unfortunately our interesting peninsula, because the Italian State forbids the commerce of italian fossils. Like for every category, our catalogues are subject to frequent revision, therefore you often come back to visit us if you are searching for novelties. Moreover, if you are to hunting of some species absent from the catalogue, or finished, you may have it for the asking: we'll do everything possible to find them!
And now.... have a nice journey in the time!

Guide to the consultation of the catalogue

As for the other zoological catalogues, the specimens of the Fossils Catalogue have been subdivided in great and small systematic categories to make easier the consultation. For example the phylum of the Mollusca is divided in class (Gastropoda, Scaphopoda), super-order and order where is necessary (Ammonitoidea, Belemnoidea).
The NEW symbol near the scientific name (genus-species) of the fossil, shows, if it's present, for a brief period all the new articles of the catalogue. The following green text indicates the main systematic category; this can be divided in subcategories (orange and yellow). For example: the ammonite Goniathites sp. (sp. means that it's a genus with uncertain specie, because no identified) has included in the phylum "Mollusca" (green text), in particular in the class of "Cephalopoda" (orange text) and precisely in the superorder "Ammonitoidea" (yellow text). The articles are listed in alphabetical order.
After the photo (if present), it follows a brief description of the fossil to give you an idea of the aspect and of the dimensions; if it isn't complete, you can find it in detail opening the article-card of the specimen that you're examining. Finally you'll find the price in Euro and Dollar and the possibility to read the article-card: clicking on it, appears a pop-up with a bigger photo of the piece and further informations useful to the purchase, like a more detailed description, the origin, that indicates the place where the fossil has been recovered, the geological ages, that indicates Era, Period, Epoch or Age during which time the animal, now available like fossil, has lived, without indication of the million years, however retraceable in any text of paleontology. In case of purchase, if available, it will come supplied also a preciser date. Then they're indicated the availability of the relating fossil (it could be temporarily finished), its code number, and at last the eventuality special price of the article (give you a look at our Offers Catalogue).
The measures of fossils indicated in the catalogue, can not always correspond, being one medium, often pproximate, between pieces of various dimensions at the moment available. For the Ammonites the measure indicates the diameter, or for the Trilobites the length, etc. Is always excluded the rock matrix that can eventually to contain the fossil except where expressly indicated. If the real measure of the available fossil is much lacking from indicated measure in the catalogue, to the action of a your eventual order we will communicate you the measure at the moment available.
For your orders, you can click on keep shopping without fear: the ultimate purchase will take place successively, after our confirmation of its real availability (anyhow we exhort you to read the terms of sale).
